    Author Guidelines*

    according to uniform requirements of the International Сommittee of Editors of medical journals (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

    1. The article should be presented in 2 printed copies (for reviewing and editing) and printed on one side of the sheet A4 with a double line spacing, a font not less than 2,5 mm high, including the summary and the information about authors. There shouldn’t be more than 30 lines on the page and more than 60 signs in one line, i.e. only 1800 signs, including intervals between words. Sizes of page fields: upper and lower — 20 mm, left — 30 mm, right — 10 mm. Pages should be numbered. At the same time article has to be provided (for data set) in a text editor on the disk CD-R(W).
    2. At the beginning of the first page there should be the following order: initials and surnames of authors; heading of article (in brackets — its contracted name for running title, max. 40 symbols including gaps); the legal name of organization(s) where this study was performed; academic status (degree), initials and surname of its head; the city where organization(s) is situated. All data stated above using the same order should be provided in English. If work is provided from several organizations, they should be numbered. Authors of article should be numbered according to organization number. The article should be signed by all authors with indication of full name, middle name and with indication of absence of conflict of interest at the end.
    3. The article should be signed of the executive (head) in order to get the right for publication and to be sent to the editorial office of the journal from all organizations from which article was written, with indication of the name of article and the author(s), certified by official stamp.
    4. The information about authors should be provided on a single sheet: surname, name, middle name (fully), the main work place, position, academic degree and scientific rank, email address, full mailing address of organization(s), where the article was written. The should be pointed a phone number of the author with whom it is possible to contact for correspondence.
    5. The materials presented in the article should be original, it shouldn’t be published earlier or sent to other periodical journals. Authors are responsible for the scientific research results provided in manuscript.
    6. The article should have different parts such as "Introduction", "Material and methods", "Results", "Discussion", "Conclusions", "Bibliography" (work citations in the article), "Abstract" in Russian and English languages (max. 15 lines) on a separate sheet. It should include the following headings: objective of research, material and methods, results, conclusions, key words. The volume of original article should be max. 10 pages, including tables, illustrations, bibliography (max. 30 sources), observations from practice — max. 3 pages, reviews — max. 14 pages (including the bibliography max. 50 sources). The article and bibliography should include works for the last 5–6 years, there isn’t allowed reference to textbooks, theses, unpublished works.
    7. It is necessary to provide the article with photocopies of author’s certificates, patents, licenses for improvement suggestions. There should be photocopies of application permission for clinical practice by the Ministry of Health or Ethical Committee on new methods of treatment, medical drugs and diagnostic and medical equipment.
    8. Relevance and purpose of the research should be indicated in part of “Introduction”.
    9. It is necessary to specify in section “Material and Methods” that all patients and volunteers participating in scientific and clinical trials signed the written informed consent, which should be collected by authors of the article. The research should be performed according to requirements of the Helsinki declaration World Medical Association (in an edition of 2013). It is important to indicate that animals that participated in pilot studies had humane treatment to them according to requirements of the Ministry of Health. Russian medical terms should be in accordance with "The encyclopedic dictionary of medical terms" (M.: Sov. ecyclop., 1982–1984. V.3 ). The name of medicines should be provided from official reference books and anatomic and histologic terms according to the International anatomic and histologic nomenclature. Units of measure of physical quantities, biochemical, hematologic, functional and other researches should be specified only according to International System of Units (SI, GOST 8.417). Different type of formulas should be signed by the author on page border.
    10. Contraction of words and terms (except commonly accepted) is not allowed. Abbreviations in article heading and key words are not allowed. They should be decoded in the text at the first mentioning.
    11. The surnames of native authors should be written with initials in the text. Foreign authors should have an original transcription (without transformation into Russian) with initials. The number should be pointed in square brackets in the bibliography or after surname of the quoted author.
    12. Tables should be visualized and numbered. They should include headings, their numbers and digital data precisely to correspond provided in the text. For all indicators, it is necessary to specify units of measurements according to SI, GOST 8.417 in the table. Tables shouldn’t duplicate the data which are available in the text of article.
    13. The illustrative materials (printout) should be sent in 2 copies in an envelope and in electronic form by separate files in the TIF format with the resolution of 300 dpi, the size on width not less than 82,5 mm and max. 170 mm. Diagrams, graphical charts and schemes created in Word, Excel, Graph, Statistica should allow further editing (it is necessary to attach initial files). Pictures, sketches, diagrams, photos, roentgenograms should be accurate. Letters, figures and symbols should be indicated only during picture editing of article file (on printout). There aren’t be additional signs on the initial files of pictures (letters, arrows, etc.). Roentgenograms, echograms should be sent with explanatory scheme. The photos and pictures should have signs written by pencil on the back side (sequence number, surname of the author, article heading, indication of top and bottom). Explanatory notes of illustrations should be printed on a separate sheet through 2 intervals with indication of picture (photo) number and all signs in Russian letters. Microphoto notes should include the degree of magnification, method of specimen staining. The number of illustrations shouldn’t be more than 8. If illustrations were earlier published in other editions, it is necessary to specify a source and to provide the written permission (the author or editions) on their publications in article.
      The color illustrations which exceed the total number should be paid by authors.
    14. The bibliography should be presented as a list named "LITERATURE [REFERENCE]" and be printed through 2 intervals and issued taking into account GOST 7.05-2008 as follows:
      1. sources are located in alphabetical order (at first native authors, then foreign authors) by last name the original author and with indication of all other authors;
      2. for periodicals (journals, etc.) indicate all authors, the full heading of article, after two slash lines (//) it is important to point the source using standard contraction, mention the place of edition (for collections of works, theses), year, volume, number, pages (the first and the last) with separation of these data using a point;
      3. for monographs indicate all authors, full name, editor, place of edition, publishing house, year, pages (total number or the first and the last), for foreign monographs indicate from what language translation was made;
      4. links to Russian-speaking sources should consist of an original (Russian) part and in square brackets with transliteration on Latin (all Russian letters should be presented according to the Latin alphabet, see http://www. translit.net, BSI encoding) but don’t translate into English. There should be provided all bibliographic data, name of journal on Latin without contraction. If the magazine is included in Medline base, then it contracted name should be provided in the English-language version according to the catalog of names of this base (http://www.ncbi.nlm.gov/nlmcatalog/journals/), otherwise the name of the journal needs to be provided in Latin without contraction.

      5. all bibliographic data should be carefully verified according to the original, the author of article are responsible for mistakes.
    15. The editors have the right of shortening and correction of articles sent by authors. The corrected version aren’t sent to authors, all further verification is carried out according to the original. Reviewers of articles have the right of confidentiality.
    16. The articles devoted to anniversary events should be sent to edition not later, than in 6 months prior to the date with enclosed photos on separate sheet using paper and electronic form.

    Order of Peer-Review Process

    The edition performs reviewing of all materials, which have been sent to the edition, corresponding to its field for the purpose of their expert evaluation. All reviewers are recognized specialists in areas of the reviewed materials and their articles were published during the last 3 years and connected with the topic of the reviewed article. Reviews are stored in publishing house and or in the editorial office during 5 years.

    The articles will be reviewed by two independent reviewers from associate editors, who are the most competent in this area and content of the material.

    Reviewers assess an accordance of the article with journal profile, processing of the article according to requirements of journal, relevance, sufficiency of research materials and its compliance to purpose and tasks, reliability of the results obtained and their scientific analysis, novelty of scientific data obtained and practical recommendations, compliance with requirements and justification of conclusions. The review with recommendations "to accept", "to refuse" (with justification of motivation) or "to refuse the provided type" (with indication of notes, questions to the author, recommendations about registration and correction of contents of article) reviewers report at the editorial board meeting, which approves the final assessment of article. Conclusions of the editorial board will be told the author(s) of the article.
